Have you ever looked in the mirror and thought your eyes have a permanent tired appearance, even if you’ve had enough sleep?
As we age and our skin loses its elasticity, our eyebrows may droop, which can lead to a tired appearance. By restoring the eyebrows to their original position, Dr Lisa Friederich can restore a more youthful aesthetic to your face.
Suitable for both men and women, a brow lift is designed to return sagging skin to its original position, creating a smoother brow and reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles on the forehead. Some patients may even find that this procedure improves their vision by removing the excess skin which may have been causing their upper eyelids to droop and obstruct their sight.
Your brow lift procedure
Dr Lisa Friederich will consult with you extensively prior to your brow lift procedure, getting to know your unique needs and goals, so your treatment can be tailored to perfectly suit you.
Depending on your circumstances, Dr Lisa may use one of the following techniques to complete you brow lift:
Coronal brow lift – This technique involves making an incision behind the hairline, then lifting and tightening the underlying tissue and muscle.
Endoscopic brow lift – Using an endoscope, this technique involves three to five short incisions, rather than one long one.
Temporal brow lift – This technique is aimed at repositioning the outer third of your eyebrow. Small incisions are placed in the hairline above the temples.
Brow lift FAQs
A brow lift procedure is performed in order to restore drooping brows to their original position. As we age, the skin tends to lose its elasticity, causing the eyebrows to droop. During a brow lift, the sagging skin is returned to its original position, creating the appearance of a smoother brow. The procedure also helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the forehead, and in some cases, can help to improve one’s vision by removing excess skin that has caused the upper eyelids to droop and obstruct the eyes.
Dr Lisa performs three types of brow lift techniques: coronal brow lift; endoscopic brow lift; and temporal brow lift. The technique she chooses to use will depend on your particular expectations and needs.
The time required to complete your brow lift will be dependent on your unique circumstances, though it is typically between one and two hours. Dr Lisa will be able to advise you of the approximate time needed to complete your procedure at your consultation.

However, you should be able to return to your normal activities about a week after your procedure. Dr Lisa Friederich will provide you with comprehensive instructions for your post-operative care. It is important you follow these instructions closely to ensure the very best results and longevity of your procedure.

It is also possible to smooth some of the appearance of wrinkles and lines in the brow and forehead through the use of injectable fillers and wrinkle relaxants, but these results only last for a certain period of time before they need to be repeated. The results provided by a brow lift last much longer.
Your surgery wound can take between one and two weeks to heal completely, and any sutures or clips will be removed when Dr Lisa deems it appropriate. While any bruising and swelling should subside within a week or two, it can take several months to recover completely from the procedure. You should avoid excessive force on your surgical incisions while you heal.
