Your eyelid rejuvenation journey
At your eyelid rejuvenation surgery consultation, Dr Lisa Friederich will discuss your concerns and goals with you at length, as well as assessing your unique circumstances. Based upon these factors, she will make a recommendation as to the best approach to achieve your desired outcome.
Depending on these findings, she may suggest one of the following techniques.
Upper eyelid surgery – This addresses drooping of the upper eyelid, which can commonly result in obstructions to your vision. Upper eyelid surgery is performed via tiny incisions placed in the crease of your upper eyelid, meaning any scarring is generally very well hidden. In some cases, Dr Lisa may find that the drooping of your eyelids has been causes by your eyebrows, and may recommend a brow lift over eyelid surgery.
Lower eyelid surgery – Puffiness or bags under the eyes can be addressed either by removing or repositioning the fat deposits under the eyes, or tightening the skin around the area.
Double blepharoplasty – This procedure addresses issues with both the upper and lower eyelids in the same procedure.
While this will be dependent on whether you require upper eyelid surgery, lower eyelid surgery, or double blepharoplasty, in most cases this procedure will take between one and two hours to complete, and can be performed either under local or general anaesthesia.
Most patients experience swelling and bruising following eyelid surgery, however this should start to abate inside a week or two. Dr Lisa Friederich will provide you with comprehensive post-surgical instructions to follow upon your release; to optimise your results, please ensure you follow these closely.
